What Do You Get with Your Hire?

 

The big apple press is housed in its own trailer and consists of:

• Rack & Cloth Screw

  Press Capacity: 40 kg / 88 lbs of milled apples. There is a series of wooden boards (racks) and cloths, a pressing system used by many commercial cider and juice makers The crushed apples are wrapped in the strong open-weave cloths and the packs are sandwiched between the boards The screw is fitted with a ratchet mechanism for ease of use and the press applies up to 12 tonnes of pressure

• 1 x Vigo 2.5hp electric fruit processing mill

• 2 x electric pasteurisers

 

Before using the large apple pressing equipment, we recommend that you have a look at our training video, showing you how to use and look after the press, mill and other equipment (23 minutes, so get a cup of tea first).

The large press hire charge is £25 per day plus £25 deposit returnable when the entire equipment and trailer is returned clean and ready for the next person to use.
